An errand is Gus pausing mid-turn to ask a named teammate something, then being woken when they answer. It exists so a run blocked on a human is visible rather than silently stalled or quietly guessed at. Gus tags the person in the thread the conversation is already in. Nothing is ever sent as a DM, which means an errand only exists where a thread does: asked from the web app with no channel, it refuses rather than going nowhere.

Two kinds

A delegated errand is work, not a question, so a reply does not close it. Delegation is for shared channels and has exactly one owner.

Overdue

A deadline arriving does not cancel anything. It widens the window, resets the nudges, and wakes Gus to take the choice back to whoever asked: keep at it, hand it over, or drop it. Only the outer ceiling gives up on its own. One errand is out per person at a time, so a busy agent cannot bury someone.
